If you have questions about mental health, treatment or the program at Northeast Wellness Collective, we’ve got answers for you.
Here are some of the most common questions we see when seeking treatment for mental health conditions.
An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a higher level of care than standard outpatient therapy. Instead of meeting once a week, IOP participants attend multiple sessions per week for several hours at a time. This structured format offers more intensive support, frequent group and individual therapy, and skill-building activities while still allowing clients to live at home and maintain work, school, or family commitments.
The IOP is ideal for individuals who need more support than weekly therapy but do not require inpatient or residential care. It is well-suited for people managing depression, anxiety, trauma, or co-occurring disorders who are medically stable and able to participate in structured programming. Our team will complete an assessment to help determine if IOP is the right fit.
Our IOP includes a combination of evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness practices. Clients also participate in group therapy, individual counseling, and skill-building sessions focused on emotional regulation, healthy coping strategies, and relapse prevention.
Most IOPs last between 6 to 12 weeks, depending on each individual’s needs and progress. Clients typically attend sessions 3–5 days per week, with each session lasting several hours. The schedule is designed to provide intensive support while still being flexible enough to accommodate work, school, and family responsibilities.

Yes, aftercare is an important part of recovery. Once you complete the IOP, our team will help you transition to the next appropriate level of care, which may include outpatient therapy, support groups, or community resources. We also provide relapse prevention planning and continued check-ins to ensure ongoing progress and stability.
